Apple Watch Band Sizes: Which Bands Fit Your Apple Watch?

Apple Watch bands come in two sizes. The one you need depends on your watch's case size, not its series or your wrist size. Your case size is engraved on the back of the watch.

This guide shows which bands connect to your watch. It is not about wrist size: each band's wrist-size range is on its product page.

Which band size to choose

Smaller band, 38–41mm (any series) or 42mm (Series 10+): fits every Apple Watch with a 38mm, 40mm or 41mm case, and the 42mm Series 10, 11 and 12.

Larger band, 44–49mm (any series) or 42mm (Series 3 or older): fits every Apple Watch with a 44mm, 45mm, 46mm or 49mm case, including every Ultra, and the 42mm original Apple Watch and Series 1, 2 and 3.

The 42mm mix-up

Apple has made two different 42mm watches. A 42mm Series 10, 11 or 12 takes the smaller band. A 42mm original Apple Watch or Series 1, 2 or 3 takes the larger band. No Apple Watch from Series 4 to Series 9 came in 42mm, so a 42mm watch bought before September 2024 is a Series 3 or older.

Frequently asked questions

Do Series 9 bands fit the Series 10, 11 or 12?

Yes. 41mm bands fit the 42mm Series 10, 11 and 12, and 45mm bands fit the 46mm models.

Do Apple Watch Ultra bands fit a regular Apple Watch?

Yes. Ultra bands fit 44mm, 45mm and 46mm Apple Watches, and 44mm, 45mm and 46mm bands fit every Ultra.

Do Apple Watch bands fit every series?

Yes, as long as you pick the right size. Apple has kept the same band connector since the original Apple Watch, so a band only has to match your case size.

Do cases and bands with a built-in case follow this chart?

No. Cases, and bands with a case built in, must match your exact model and case size. Follow the options on the product page.
